As Starmer and Trump sit down today, British citizen Alaa Abdel Fattah has been held in Egyptian custody beyond his completed sentence for 151 days. His mother, Dr. Laila, is at risk of losing her life while she hunger strikes in protest of this illegal detention. The time to #FreeAlaa is now.
As UK Prime Minister Starmer prepares to sit down with US President Trump, British citizen Alaa Abdel Fattah, who remains unjustly detained in Egypt, should be on the agenda. Together, the UK and US should work together to push Egypt to follow the law and release Alaa. #FreeAlaa
