What are the ‘social dimensions’ of moving species for conservation and why does engaging with them matter?

This is the focus of our new paper doi.org/10.1016/j.tr... published in @cp-trendsecolevo.bsky.social olevo.bsky.social led by ever talented @aisrayne.bsky.social

Features as a wee black bird with four leg bands: white over orange on the left leg and red over white on the right leg. Sneaky tufts of feathers peak out from otherwise borb-like body, encouraged by the unseen wind.

Actually really sad to hear that Nigel Latta has passed away. His work on parenting, and his TV shows on difficult topics were really thought-provoking and challenged me to think differently.
Stupid cancer.

What have we learnt from this good piece in EMBO Reports & quotes from @itiscolossal.bsky.social about the smear campaign against critics of de-extinction. CEO Ben Lamm thinks his attacks against critics are jokes...I can confidently tell you they are not www.embopress.org/doi/full/10.... 1/3

Science requires debate, argumentation, and honest criticism, which I *love*, it cannot, however, survive the petty slander of @itiscolossal.bsky.social CEO and CoFounder #BenLamm; even his CoFounder Dr Church and CSO Dr Shapiro recognize that childish, ad hominem attacks have no place in science 🧪

Clearly, Ben Lamm missed the memo, instead going on an ad hominem attack, in comments about @devoevomed.bsky.social, that critics "spread lies and insane and baseless tin-foil hat conspiracy theories", have "mental health" problems, and engage in "stalking-like" behaviour. Seriously. WTF 🤬....3/3
nicrawlencenz.bsky.social
@itiscolossal.bsky.social Beth Shapiro says the smear articles are "childish", while George Church said people should "use their real names...and avoid ad hominem comments". 2/3

Question for the #phylogenetics hive mind. What freely available phylogenetics programmes are out there that will work on iPads with morphological character based data? This is for a 200 level evolutionary biology lab working with bird skulls.
