...though they do affect me. I guess it could be likened to a sort of mental cutting? It's not that it doesn't hurt, but it releases more misery than it builds? If that makes sense?

Just seeing his name, tbh 🤣😂 I guess I, to some extent, really thrive on living through misery vicariously. However crass that sounds, I have a fairly cynical worldview & I think stuff like that assuage some of my own misery, in the sense that downbeat movies seldom makes me feel bad...

I've seen it twice 😁 Actually, when I saw it the first time, I knew it mostly as the "banned & extreme film", then I read about how a lot of filmmakers, eg Lars von Trier ao think it's great & important & I had to watch it again, to see if my experience of it being very one note was wrong...

I get that, I truly do, and we all have varying degrees of difference in how we react to art, but I've seen many people single out RFAD as particularly downbeat over the years, and I've always wondered. Will rewatch it at some point.

And it's a window that gets smaller as you age. Wonderful.

Lovely, mate.

I admittedly love Feel Bad movies. Certainly not a ray of sunlight, this one, but I don't think it was affecting me that bad... 🤔 I'm not trying to be an edgelord, mind, I really don't have memories of it being *that* harsh. Certainly not one for rewatching w/my wife, though, that's for sure 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I've yet to see it, so have no set opinion. From what I've read, it seems to be a movie very much in the vein of Salo; one with a fairly simple message, that you get beaten over the head with, for it's entire runtime: fascism bad. One is hailed by cinephiles, one is shunned by almost everybody.

You should, Clinton, it's not only hilarious & absolutely bonkers, it's also a fairly deep movie. Yes, truly. When me and the wife watched it, I said something to the effect of it being an impressively touching movie, considering how much jokes on bodily functions are featured front & center.

Great film!

Thank Dog! I hope not too much of your stuff has been ruined....

Only joined a few weeks back.

We ended up watching something else. Buddy'll be over watching it Wednesday, as my wife's at her weekly choir practice 😂🤣😂
December 8, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Yeah, I agree. I a have a DVD box of all (or most) of the Tomie films, but this one stopped me from exploring further... So the rest are still unwatched... 😂🤣🤣😂 It'll happen some day, if I don't die first 😅

Jarmusch's weakest film, by quite a mileage, imho. There's a small handful of his never films I haven't seen, though, so what do I know....
December 8, 2025 at 7:17 PM
I must rewatch this at some point. I'd didn't think much of it when it came out...
December 8, 2025 at 7:12 PM
🤣😂🤣😂🍻

Just got a note from Diabolik, that that disc is in it's way to me. Among other goodies.

Apart from Bezos being a gaping asshole, this is exactly why I've stopped buying media from Amazon. 9 times out of 10 it's dented, at best.

Glad you've been paying attention 😉🍻

Vision of love. But that's about what I can come up with.

Not sure about non-popcorn flavored popcorn, period.
