We're grateful that The National Press Club continues to advocate for the release of imprisoned Chinese journalist Dong Yuyu -- a 2007 Nieman Fellow --and will honor him with its 2025 President's Award at a ceremony on August 27.

WASHINGTON — The National Press Club announced today it will present its distinguished President’s Award for 2025 to Chinese journalist Dong Yuyu, a respected editor and columnist who has been imprisoned in Beijing since February 2022 after being convicted on espionage charges he is appealing.
