Gold votive crown of Recceswinth, Visigothic King of Spain (649-72). Inscribed RECCESVINTHVS REX OFFERET, (King Recceswinth offered it).
It forms part of the Visigothic royal hoard of Guarrazar, discovered in c.1860, and possibly hidden following the Umayyad invasion of Spain in 711.

The Rio Minho forms the northern border of Portugal with Galician Spain. This is near to Moncao on the Portuguese side. As you can see from the sky today was sunshine and showers, and a long day by my standards, 20 miles. 🇪🇸🇵🇹☀️🌧️🥾

This is the Rio Xabrina near her source in the Montes de Paranos, Galicia, 🇪🇸. Here she is young, excited and bubbly; but further downstream at her confluence with the Rio Tea at Mondariz Balnearo she becomes sluggish and heavy and maybe a bit sad about losing her identity to the bigger river.
