#NowPlaying Next up in my Sunday afternoon Japanese metal rabbit hole: Loudness “Thunder In The East” (@AtlanticRecords, 1985 OP) - Probably the best known of the 80s Japanese metal bands, more melodic than Anthem, but still with gritty riffs that stops them from going wimpy.

#NowPlaying Next up in my Sunday afternoon Japanese metal rabbit hole: Loudness “Thunder In The East” (@AtlanticRecords, 1985 OP) - Probably the best known of the 80s Japanese metal bands, more melodic than Anthem, but still with gritty riffs that stops them from going wimpy.
#NowPlaying ANTHEM “Bound to Break” (1987 OP, Medusa Records). If you don’t know these guys, get on it immediately. Japanese HM band channeling the best riffs and melodies of @judaspriestof.bsky.social, Accept etc - this album especially is a stone-cold classic.

#AOTY2024 Here's my full Top 40 albums of 2024 (previously posted as separate lists). Those of you that know me may be surprised by no thrash in the top 10 - shows what a killer year for new releases it's been across multiple sub-genres. Can't wait to do it all again in 2025!
