So under my breath I’ll sorta mutter “where are we, where are we” as I’m assessing stop lights. or “let’s get out of here, let’s get out of here” when I’m distracted in the wrong web window. I don’t know what this all says about me. They’re like weird little spells to break distraction enchantments.

I understand this on a strange level (not being a WRITER writer). I’m always so far up in my brain thoughts, I’ll need to sorta chant a little something out loud to wrangle my consciousness back down into the real world to like cross the street, or remember why I walked into a room. 1/2

I was not actually prepared for how bland it’d look??? Did we forget how crucial fantasy clouds were for the mood of films in the ‘80s? Where’s the shadows and dramatic color lighting?
How could they have all this pre-existing concept art and still create such a flat world?

Ah, that does make a lot of sense. It almost has to go about things like Children of Men (a movie I’m still not brave enough to watch a second time). Where it’s about ALL the stuff at once… and you just see it briefly in the peripheral.

considering how much has been revealed about the types of people sitting in CEO chairs, on boards, and wasting space as share holders… they really have the most to fear if it gets deeper into the cultural zeitgeist.

I’ve often wondered, at least with more “main stream” stuff, if they’re actually given notes to tone it back or remove it entirely. Maybe sounds conspiratorial, but…
