Sadly because of this ability, during the fall of Eridu, many Nightwatchers were abandoned or mistaken as Ethereals and killed.

In modern day, the Nightwatchers live on the outskirts of New Eridu [implicitly, the Outer Ring].

Nightwatchers have this natural ability that Ethereals normally do not attack them because they see them as their own kin.

Think of it as mimicry or scrambling whatever unique vision Ethereals have.

Ethereals will still attack if provoked or she’s near non-Nightwatchers.

She summons a Thanatos Recreation to cover her as she fights off the Ethereals with her staff, careful where she swings in case whatever or whoever the Ethereals were surrounding could get hurt.

“Yep. I mostly do Ethereals and other creatures… Doppelgängers are hard because they mimic human shape and movement, too…”
