I dreamed I was scolded for bad manners at a party; I said: Manners are from the Manor - it's the art of false smiles, false words, and selling out friends and family to get ahead! I'd rather have Cottars: up front, out loud, and back you up because you're a *person* and that's worth something!

I found myself across the table from my 21yo for the first time in a while.
Me: What are your hopes and dreams?
21yo: ...
Me: What are your plans for the next 3 weeks?
21yo: ...
Me: If you could be any arthropod, what arthropod would you be?

So proud of our team’s presentations at the Adirondack Research Consortium conference. It was our first large presentation of initial results. We installed plots in twelve old forests and now have the ages and growth of near 700 trees inside almost all edges of the Adirondacks.

I joined about 100 other hopeful and determined folks for #handsoff in Lowell, MA today and made cards for folks who seem exhausted and short of options. choosedemocracy.us has a bunch of ideas for what you can DO, whether you can be on the front lines or support, both immediate and strategic.

Right now I'm very proud to be an Alum of @wesleyanuniversity.bsky.social , whose president Michael Roth has the courage to not obey in advance, to defend institutions, to stand out, to believe in truth, to be a patriot, and to be courageous: slate.com/life/2025/02...

in my experience the genuine male feminists are just like, nice to women and treat them normally and don’t start podcasts or seek awards for it. performative behavior should always be a red flag.
Neil Gaiman, Justin Baldoni, and the End of the Male Feminist
This ignominious crew of famous men seemed to align with women against sexist oppression in public as they mistreated women in private.
