A peaceful life. Is that too much to ask for?
How can screening programme to detect a common cancer amongst men cause more harm than good? A very disappointing recommendation.

Rachel Reeves: superb speech. Kemi Badenoch: embarrassing reply.

Congratulations to David Cameron. Treated for prostate cancer and is now cancer free. I was treated for the same problem last year and I am also cancer free. There is a lot of talk today about why there is no screening programme for this in the U.K. Good point. Come on Mr. Streeting. Get it done!

Politicians in the U.K. talk about people coming to this country being ‘processed’ upon their arrival. What an awful word to use.
Hitler’s henchmen ‘processed’ Jews in the Second World War.
Just an awful word to describe what happens to human beings.

I never watch GBNews, but as I channel hopped to find something else, I just had to stop to watch Mark Francois and Zia Yusuf knocking political spots off each other. Highly entertaining stuff.

As if UEFA doesn’t have a big enough income from European teams playing games in Europe.

I read recently that you should not judge how successful your life is by what you have, but by who you have in it. How true!

The sun is coming up over the hills on the mainland and bathing the village in natural light. It’s still cool enough to sit outside with my cup of tea.

Why is it that politicians cannot give a straight answer to a reasonable question. John Healey was pressed on the guarantee to spend 3% of GDP on defence and all he could do was give word salad! Yes or no! Two easy words to say.

Watching the build up to the F.A. Cup final and the traditional hymn is sung. Abide With Me. A beautiful hymn and one which we sang at my father’s funeral. Holding back the emotions. No matter who wins, I hope it is a great game.

My basil plant drops leaves onto my neighbour’s balcony. She sweeps them up and throws them over onto my balcony. I went out today and I left my washing out to dry. It rained unexpectedly so my other neighbour moved it under cover. Some people are just nicer than others!

Why’s no one talking about these terrible ideas from Reform?

Sometimes, you just need a bit of support and then, when it comes from places you least expect it, it builds you up. Last night I was struggling with my own thoughts a bit. Tonight I feel altogether better.

Today has been pretty damn good! I feel as though I have taken things in my stride and achieved things.

Just been speaking on the phone to someone who told me that a mutual acquaintance joined the Police because of me! Me? A role model? No way!

Considering the spelling of his name, shouldn’t it be pronounced either ‘Weensteen’ or ‘Winestine’?

Later in the year, you won’t be able to see Paxos and Corfu beg in no it because it will be too hazy! You have to look carefully on a clear day.
