Also don't forget that if you look back on your past work and DON'T think "wow I could do this so much better now" that means you're not growing, and that is bad. Finding flaws in your old work is supposed to be the natural order of creativity!

The idea that any genre is inherently better or worse than any other blows my mind. Everyone has different preferences and having lots of choices is a GOOD thing.
