A couple weeks ago I shared this photo of the Soldier Mountains and its reflection in color. Today I had a wild idea that it might look interesting in black and white. So I converted it this evening and here's what I came up with.

Here's another one from my trip to Yellowstone National Park during February last year. I'd been watching a pack of wolves hanging out near a herd of bison out in the Lamar Valley during a snowstorm for over an hour. Both groups kept keenly aware of each other, but didn't engage.

Dove into the treasure chest and found this photo from a trip to Yellowstone National Park last year. Always love seeing and photographing the American Bald Eagle. This one was fishing on the Madison River.

No squirrels on the fence today, but three elk spent a good part of the afternoon on the other side of the fence. They decided that what's left of the snow here in town was nice place to rest and cool off. This one was keeping an eye on me.

I've been a bit limited in my ability to get out and shoot more things for the past couple weeks (had some wrenching done on my back) so City Scooter has been entertaining me. Caught him doing a big leap in the backyard.

Was having a flashback this morning to a nice warm New Year's Day 2024 in Punta Arenas, Chile and these flowers on a boulevard there. It will probably be as warm here in Idaho today!

The FIS Ski World Cup Finals kick off today in Sun Valley. I want to wish the best to the Winningest Alpine Skier in FIS World Cup History, Mikaela Shiffrin. I had the good fortune to photograph and meet Mikaela here in Sun Valley at the US Alpine Championships in March 2016. All the best Mikaela!

Last night while out looking for some aurora borealis (which didn't show up), I had my Nikon busy making this twenty minute star trail photo of Orion's Belt and a few of the stars in the constellation. The stars were beautiful last night.

The Blood Moon Eclipse the other night was sensational over Sun Valley, Idaho. These three photos show it at full, 50% and just as the the eclipse began.
