Labels, like shirts, tend to fit too tight at the collar and too long at the sleeves, but if you treat me as a mediocre, cishet, middle-aged white guy, you're not going to be far off the mark.

Might follow back if you'll add joy to my timeline.
What makes you think they're grocery stores?

The first one, maybe, but that's mostly based on the shopping basket. I can't make out any merchandise.

The second photo seems to be a place that sells ball caps.

The third has merchandise arranged in cubby holes; that's hardly typical for groceries.

To be fair, Ponder seemed to have a good grasp on the exam material, from what we saw of his study session with Victor. Of the two textbook questions Victor asked him, he answered both correctly.

He may only have been in danger of failing because Victor took him out drinking and he was hungover.

The driveway. In winter, I am freaking obsessive about getting as much of the snow off of my driveway as possible.

...I have no idea *how* that will save me, but I'm pretty sure it's that.

We can rebuild it. We have the technology. Better than it was before. Less "view from nowhere." Less "access journalism." Less beholden to billionaires.

Is this about the 6-7 thing?

Because, yeah, that's dumb, but as someone who grew up during the WASSUUUUUUP days, that's kind of the pot calling the kettle black.

Wasn't the "Ask not..." quote JFK (president, assassinated), not JFK Jr (journalist, died in plane crash)?
December 8, 2025 at 11:57 PM
Because, to misquote Douglas Adams, we've all got the vote, so we all pretty much assume that the government we've voted in more or less approximates to the government we want. And if we didn't vote for miscreants/weirdos, the wrong miscreant/weirdo might get in.

And old/young/immunocompromised people.

And if "fewer stupid people" is the rationale for not vaccinating the kids and grandkids, that's skating awful close to eugenics.
December 8, 2025 at 6:31 PM
Nah. Them being vaccinated is a benefit to everyone. And visiting the sins of the parents unto the grandchildren is especially unjust.

If they have demonstrated that they can't be trusted with the right to vote, on the other hand...

Heh. Getting your driver to write a driver.

I imagine that when sight returns, ADI is going to look quite gruesome. In a completely mechanical and sterile way, but one that nonetheless looks disturbing to human eyes (like faceless Zoa).

Sounds like maybe Questionable Questing would be a good place to host it?

This sounds a lot like a quest (only in comic format instead of text), and QQ has an area for NSFW quests.

I think the only acceptable use is next to "mph," because it gives a consistent format.

In any other scenario, km/h or straight to jail, do not pass go.

I just went back through the archives to get more hints about what is happening to Cora, and have little other than that it seems to predate her first appearance, that it's self-inflicted, and that it's related to magical travel.

What did you do to yourself, Cora?

I mean, he endorsed Mr. Nazi Tattoo, so I wouldn't be that surprised?

I've heard that there's no such thing as a person who can't be scammed; there's only people who haven't been targeted with the right scam yet.

Congrats on spotting it without losing more than a few moments' time to it.

There are some German words that really conform to the stereotype of "sounds like the English words, just smashed together and said with a German accent."

"Smut-word-search" for "looking up naughty words in the dictionary" is almost too on-the-nose, even for that stereotype.

The Democrats are already in the minority. Losing one vote (which is probably already lost, as the price of the pardon) costs them nothing.

On the other hand, signalling to the electorate that bribery is a-ok with your party doesn't really help you sell the message that "our opponents are corrupt."

Carney says that this deal with Alberta will build "a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive, and more independent economy together."

If he's lying to her, he's also lying to us.
Canada and Alberta are focused on what we can control: building a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive, and more independent economy together.

Additional counterpoint:

I give the publisher permission to rip the covers off of every copy of this book and toss the pages back into the pulper to turn into recycled paper.

What? The publisher has no intention of doing so regardless of what permission I give them?

The hell you say.
