No Kings in Durham, NC! Huge attendance and a great afternoon of inspiring speakers, including the Rev Dr William Barber, followed by a march downtown.

Well, the world may be hurtling into darkness, but we did get in a lovely morning game of Harmonies with our somewhat board-game-“meh” 14-year-old. Scores were close (100-96-96). How can you not forget your troubles when the happy stingrays are helping you score points?

I put “Violet and the Grumpy Nisse”, an adorable 2-player card game, on my Christmas list this year. I knew it was a long shot, as it isn’t widely available outside of Germany. My husband and Agie Games came through, though, just a day after Christmas (look at the lovely note from the publisher!).

I introduced my initially reluctant husband and son to the awesomeness that is the Martha Wells Murderbot series this past year. We all ended up buying each other Murderbot swag for Christmas. 😁

May as well make my inaugural post about board gaming!
We managed a nice play of Terracotta Army today, a game with fabulous table presence and a fun action wheel mechanic. This one arrived to mixed reviews, but aside from the somewhat tedious final scoring, we really enjoy it.
