Thats an OK price.... still not quite on thr money. If it was <£400 I'd be tempted to get one for convenience factor.

Don't see it as awful at all.... just a perfect metric of power or machine.

Have that as part of the Remastered Iv - never seen it on its own before. This a new release?
November 12, 2025 at 10:50 PM
Yeah - but as I said to you, price point is absolutely vital here. If its gonna be around the £700-800 its gonna fall flat IMHO.

Defo.... and that's why I hope it works, brings more folk to PC gaming. All about that price point. Really keen to see full spec, but the 60fps limit quite concerning. I can run almost anything at 120fps + on my setup.

As a lifelong PC gamer 1st and foremost, this is very cool in bringing huge PC gaming catalogue to console players. However, suspect uptake from PC gamers will be very low
November 12, 2025 at 10:35 PM
Think its all down to price. No PC gamer is going near it unless its reallt cheap as spec will be nowhere near most setups. Its pitched purely at console gamers IMHO, and they will need a lot to make the jump for it to work.

Excellent for those who will get access to huge library for first time.

Whole album is top tier, but this track man....

Play it on full volume and let it sweep you away.

Good few in the running this year for me, and will probably go to one I listen to last before the year ends.

Idlwild, Anna von Hausswolff, Bon Iver, Blondeshell and Alison Goldfrapp's new albums all more than worthy too.

I very much enjoyed RDR2 too - much more than GTA 5.

I'm pretty sure there will be one - just have to wait probably a decade or so for it!!

Who knows, they might use Rage 9 for a quick (by their standards) launch of RDR3.

AnvilNext was the previous version of their engine. Latest / current version is Ubisoft Anvil.

Just had a quick look - it's was an engine upgrade, not a new ground up build. So adding improvements to what is already there.
November 7, 2025 at 4:22 PM
Not meaning it as praise - its just a statement of fact. Every time they release a new engine it is more advanced than anything else on the market. Has been the case since GTA 3. Doesn't equate to the greatest games though!

There is reportedly over 40 patents alone for Rage 9!
November 7, 2025 at 4:19 PM
Stand corrected if that's the case - I had read it was just an up spec'd version of same engine rather than new version - similar to Unreal Engine 4.1 a few years back.
November 7, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Point was it's easy to fire out games when you aren't changing it up and using same engine. Every time Rockstar drop a game it advances what is possible - they now build engine for each game! What £2b in sales afford you!

Neither way is right or wrong IMHO - just not a valid comparison.

Don't disagree with gameplay mechanics.

2 versions of Anvil (previously called Scimitar). Since Origins, all AC games have been same engine.

GTA 6 first game on Rage 9. By all accounts the most advanced and powerful game engine ever devised - astronomical jump from Rage 8 (RDR2 engine).
