it's a shame the alleged sogdian moon goddess (xšwm, "growing moon") is basically just this single mural and a bunch of theophoric names because i can't really tinker with how her sphere of activity would intersect with nanaya's without any indication of her character

i have some doubts - most notably ninshubur is virtually absent from incantations and divination while hurrians were strongly associated with both; on the other hand, that UD.GAL.NUN Utu myth Kamran Zand discussed recently has Utu actually bring Ninshubur from Subartu

I talked about it before but I don't really like the recurring discussions about "historically accurate Trojans" on tumblr and especially bringing Hittites into it.

Whether we take Illiad, the various plays, or the Aeneid, Troy and Trojans are really fantasy more than reality
