Not disagreeing that the centrist "don't talk about Epstein" stuff is stupid and not in line with what Mamdani did.
Just saying that Mamdani's campaign did change my mind about what should be emphasized towards economic issues.

Didn't Mamdani have a ratio between the stuff that was all about affordability, that was all about bashing Cuomo and the stuff that tied it together?
That last bit was crucial but he did have to decide what to message most, and it seems like it was affordability?

yeah i remembered in the post below that one. i still think itll play a bit different than abortion bc if you terminate a pregnancy in IL its still terminated when you get back to OK. but marriages would disappear and reappear

Also, if they do overturn obergefel I hope they overturn the respect for marriage act ASAP as that would be the strategic mistake . Right now it seems like they've been somewhat strategic and it makes it hard to pack/overrule the court without a revolution

I don't know what that means for the respect for marriage act, but personally I wouldn't bet on repeal unless the odds were better than +80 like as a ballpark

I don't know if there are five votes on the court for granting fertilized embryos 14th amendment rights and protection from murder. And I think public opinion is a factor in that
