China and Brazil account for maximum deposits of rare earth minerals, but China is by far the largest producer. Brazil doesn't produce much though it has large reserves. I guess that might change soon.

The U.S. Asian population has more than doubled since 2000. Chinese Americans are the largest Asian origin group in the US, 22% of the Asian population. Followed by Indian Americans at 21 %. However, the % of Asian immigrants is declining.

These stats are telling: The number of pilots/co-pilots employed and number of aircrafts in service are quite skewed for some airlines, like Indigo for example. Air India has many planes grounded currently so they have extra pilots.

Only 6 of top 20 songs of 2025 are from 2025! And only 3 of the top 10 are from 2025. Nostalgia & escapism is just one of the reasons. Another is that many of these came out late last year. And there’s been a lack of megastar albums this year.

The editor, The Economist, says no point demonising the Right. It's not just in Europe but also in Japan that the Right is rising. Some Right politicians are appalling but not all. To counter them, just claiming that they will bring about the end of the world will not work.

International migration has become a political flashpoint. Out of OECD countries, Switzerland has the largest share of migrants at 31.1%, followed by Australia at 30%. Canada is at 22%, UK at 17% and US at 15%.

S.Korea, Taiwan & Singapore have the lowest #fertility rates while Chad, Somalia and Congo have the highest. World fertility rate is declining, averaging 2.25 children per woman, a 6.2% drop from 2019. Population replacement rate is 2.1.

Amongst adults raised religiously unaffiliated, 93% still don't identify with any religion. And Hindus & Muslims rarely change their religion. As a Hindu I know why – you can be agnostic & still be a Hindu.
Christians are most likely to change their religion.

It’s taking less & less time for new tech to go mainstream. Took 30 years for Radio/TV, 25 for internet, 26 for email, 27 for mobiles, 16 for smartphones, 9 for usb…and #AI, invented in 2017, is believed to be mainstream already. This is our fate.

These graphs show who bought Russia fuels after the bans. As you can see, the EU continued to buy even after imposing the bans themselves. Other countries did too...but India was the only one punished severely. I guess because we have nothing to blackmail the US with.

Adults from 25 countries see spread of false info online, the global economy & terrorism as major threats today. But the real threat is from lunatic global leaders who fuel these disasters. Chaos, fear, poverty and hatred helps them consolidate their power.

International adoptions have reduced drastically in the west, bc origin countries like China, Guatemala, Russia, Korea banned it. A few rich nations like Netherlands & Denmark banned their own citizens from doing it. But the murky world of international surrogacy is rising.

#Obesity rates in some rich countries are scary – over 40% in the US & some M-E countries like Kuwait & Saudi. Frighteningly, in September 25, Unicef reported that obese kids now outnumber those who are underweight.
