Now that Nintendo is embracing the "classic mario" aesthetic, more YouTubers need to become familiar with the names Yoichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. Kotabe solidified the 2D Mario look in the late 80s and early 90s, and Nakaue has been carrying that torch in newer games.

I hate when people say that Nintendo lost its touch or doesn't have soul or creativity anymore because they are still clearly very creative when it comes to games. The Mario franchise specifically has been the most creative it has been in over 15 years.
