Deleted all social media, turned off all news, retreated into a dark cave, refusing to think about or talk about what happened during or after the Nov '24 election. Came out of retreat the end of March '25. Gobsmacked.
Thanks. You're spot on.

It's not Bluesky, per se. It's the world. BS just brings it into focus.

JFC. I made it to p30 of a 46 page top-level budget letter to the Chair of Appropriations, and scanned the rest in disbelief. I'm gobsmacked.
Fuck this; all of it.

My point is that funding may disappear from one source, but it appears elsewhere. Uncovering it is key.

I wasn't aware of the 10% fdn proposal you mention. Under that scenario I'd wager money will be moved from endowment to another line or vehicle.

We can assume every HHS agency will pull back. Grants.gov is not the only source of capital for research. Get Sponsored Projects and Endowment people involved and pivot. The money doesn't just evaporate.

That perception is prevalent.

Mine are mostly from slender young Asian women with long straight hair. Discovered if one ignores them for a couple weeks, then the accts disappear. You win for numbers though; here a couple dozen in 3 months.

We'll get through it. Creative strategies will win the day, as they always do. Just not what we were trained on.

There needs to be a plaque in a pub, somewhere.
