People who don’t fully understand what structural or systemic racism and discrimination look like? Well, let me tell you: the policies being implemented now will further exacerbate the challenges faced by historically marginalized populations.

The word "Atuedu" means wellbeing in Garifuna, my native language. From a young age, this word has guided my journey in Global/Public Health as an undergraduate student at @cornelluniversity.bsky.social. Wellness is what I hope for in an increasingly interconnected society.

The attack on science undermines the progress that drives innovation and shapes our future. By rejecting scientific knowledge, we hinder the solutions to the global challenges we face. As a US Citizen who migrated to the US at an early age my family saw the US as a beacon of hope and prosperity.

Today, we mourn the loss of the iconic Honduran Garifuna singer, Aurelio Martínez, who tragically passed away in a plane crash. It is an incredibly sad day as we remember the light he brought to so many of us. His impact meant so much to all of us.
