in a way I'm glad it's not just me, i thought i was just going through a rough patch, but it's been reported by many different artists, both in vtuber spaces and otherwise

but any feel of relief was quickly replaced with anger at the system and despair

i just wanna do art and not be homeless

i sat down to look up if other freelance artists have noticed a considerable drop in art commission work that started sometime in 2024 and it's really happening all over the place

I think a lot of the current "Social Media makes you miserable" stuff comes from people who don't use SM to be social. They use it to consume. And then they don't consume socially either. They use some kind of algorithmic feed to show content by people they don't know saying god knows what.
