Why we cap at thirty five
We tested this the hard way; it costs us now but gives runners the best week, real connection, care for our host communities, and lasting friendships.

Wellness starts with We

Not Me

This has gnawed at me for sometime. The concept of wellness has pressed us to invest in ourselves more, but the science doesn’t back this up.

I never planned to be a race director…

At 27, I was an investment advisor in the City…At 38, I’ve spent the last decade building races across deserts, mountains, volcanoes, and national parks!

It’s addictive, no work has ever stimulated me like it. In 2026 I’ll be sharing a lot more !

Running into my next lap round the sun.

As a Christmas Day baby you learn to keep birthdays light. I’m happy with that…but I always keep my phone on for anyone who’s alone or hurting.

It isn’t an easy day for everyone. I’ve been there.

If that’s you, send me a message, we can chat.

First shots from our Jordan race dropping today, and they are simply delightful!

From the sky it looks effortless. On the ground it was ridiculous: a fifteen-year derelict lakeside site turned into a place where runners could live and work for a week, inside the community that hosts us. That is why we will not scale in 2026.

Always seeking the spots that are one step away from the mainstream.

Places on the edges
Jerash in Jordan is exactly that…
A must visit!

That’s the 100 followers here on Bluesky. Thank you!

Starting from 0 on a new platform is always intimidating. But the energy on a certain other short form platform got too much- this place feels much more aligned with my own values. So, thank you everyone on here, followers or not

First glimpses of our Jordan Impact Marathon storytelling…

We are pushing hard to move away from race highlights, and into the stories behind each run, each step.

I’ve wanted to make this move for a long time. But it finally feels possible.

10 years in
And every time the email 📧 pings a note that some has signed up to an Impact Marathon - I genuinely still get butterflies.

Celebrate every win you can find, even if you have much bigger goals. Each win is one more step towards them.

It was a lonely month in the build up to our Jordan event - that loneliness disappeared the moment I touched down in Amman.

My favourite landing ever!
I’ve looked forward to taking my daughter on her first flight since the moment I first held her.

She observed every detail as our flight descended into Newark. Each tweak of the wing, the world growing ever larger into view.

I had glassy eyes the whole way.

The post-race blues is not just for the runners…ten years ago, I hit a big slump after our fist event in Nepal.

This is a draft excerpt from my book, so I’m keen for feedback.

Back to where it began.

Our first Impact Marathon was in Nepal.
It changed everything.

Since then, Impact Runners have funded over 400 life-saving surgeries for victims of burns violence.

But there are 56,000 cases every year

Nepal 2026 will mark ten years since that first race.

Join me.
