Health care is under attack and unaffordable for many. Programs like the 988 hotline provide vital support in times of crisis, particularly for LGBTQIA+ youth. Now's the time for lawmakers to protect these critical services so New Jerseyans can get the mental health care they need when they need it.

While 720,000 wealthy NJ families get permanent tax breaks under the "One Big Beautiful Bill," 360,000 poor, disabled, and elderly residents lose Medicaid and food assistance. This isn't economic policy. This is choosing winners and losers based on wealth.
It’s a great time to be rich in N.J. Here’s why.
Here's what the One Big Beautiful Bill means for your wallet.

The report outlines two pathways to reducing poverty in the state: expanding existing tax credits and benefit programs, or creating a new $5,000 annual child allowance for Medicaid-eligible families.

Both programs would advance racial equity.

Table comparing two cash assistance program proposals: One building on existing programs by doubling programs like the Child Tax Credit, and the other creating a new program that would provide $5,000 annually to families with Medicaid-eligible children.

I spoke with CBS news about the upcoming election and rising utility bills.

New Jersey needs a leader who will build more newer, reliable energy sources. It’s the best way to keep costs down and make the state more affordable for all!
njpolicy.bsky.social
When lawmakers talk about kitchen table issues, utility costs should be among them as New Jerseyans face rising rates.

"Affordability is the number one issue in this race, and rising energy prices are also at the top of everyone's mind," @alexfromnj.bsky.social.

Energy prices could be election issue as voters see jump in utility bills
Energy suppliers are having trouble keeping up with the rapid increase in demand, and consumers in some states are seeing higher monthly bills.

PJM has already delayed projects that would lower electric bills for New Jerseyans.

And now, the federal administration is increasing electric bills even more by cancelling clean energy tax credits — making it harder for newer, more reliable energy to move forward.

Had the absolute pleasure of hanging out with Franck Beaumin, NJ Transit’s new customer advocate, & the Fund NJT coalition!

I can personally confirm Franck’s number one priority is the customer. He is already working to make sure the agency is ALWAYS keeping the rider & their experience in mind.

🚨‼️3RD CIRCUIT FEDERAL COURT OVERTURNS NJ DETENTION BAN

This decision allows for private prison companies to continue doing business in NJ, overriding our state values. But let’s be clear, IMMIGRANTS ARE NOT FOR SALE

NJ lawmakers knew that, among other issues, federal cuts to clean energy incentives were likely to be approved.

So why did they raid the clean energy fund at levels not seen since the Christie Administration?

New Jersey's FY 2026 budget could have been a moment of courage.

Instead, the budget process went on autopilot, cutting back revenue increases and dipping deeper into state cash reserves, while failing to protect residents from federal cuts.

We knew the budget outlook was bad — but it’s worse than we thought.

This new report from @njpolicy.bsky.social shows how NJ’s FY26 budget deepens inequality, shortchanges public needs, and sets us up for a fiscal cliff.

This isn’t governing. It’s deferring disaster.
