If we had responsible corporate media, which we do not, every network would have cut away from this within the first 30 seconds or so, when it was clear that there was not going to be any newsworthy event taking place, just a rant from an increasingly addled, bitter, and delusional sundowning elder

The SOB doth protest too much, methinks.

I'm not saying strategically Dems should blame voters. I'm responding to you who suggested voters will rightfully be upset with Dems if, given a tiny piece of power, Dems don't accomplish big things. We'll be lucky as heck if Dems can just rein in the worst of the fascism that the VOTERS gave us.

The last thing we need is VOTERS thinking that because they give Dems a tiny smidge of power in one mid-term, they've done their job, & Dems will magically fix this mess they created. There are voters out there now who ought to be ashamed & apologizing every damn day for what they've done to us.

Electing Trump over Hillary, VOTERS gave control of the Supreme Court to right wing authoritarians. Despite VOTERS knowing about Project 2025 voters gave the presidency and both houses of congress to GOP control. VOTERS made this damn bed we're living in now.

Dems may win the House. Getting the Senate will be quite difficult. Either way, they'll have little ability to get anything even incrementally progressive passed given presidential vetoes. We can hope that they'll at least have enough leverage to stop some of the madness, but there's no guarantee.

Nope. Lots of years of good legislation getting blocked by the GOP. For example, you think that the federal minimum wage hasn't been raised since 2009 because there are too many Dems who won't vote for it to be higher? Of course not. It's the GOP that's blocked it from going up even a damn nickel.

Dems need to level with the public. There is no magic policy bullet that is going to roll prices back to prior years. But we can end Trump's stupid tariffs which increase prices and take other actions here and there like increasing the housing stock and health care subsidies.

Biden was already past his prime when elected in 2020. Both Biden and his administration where terrible at PR, at explaining what they were doing and defending their record. We are in part paying the consequences of that.

Why would you declare this? Obama was the best. Biden failed in appointing Merrick Garland who did not want to appear "political" despite serving in the aftermath of a full scale insurrection. Now the DOJ is totally politicized and doing the bidding of a criminal.

The future of our country absolutely depends upon routing Trumpism and the GOP for several election cycles and restoring the rule of law and decency.

I oppose candidates who divert attention from that fight & engage in cheap populist appeals that the fight is against some supposed "establisment."
