So, effectively, a Democrat just signed into law a tax cut on coal and gas power?

Hoboken just activated an automated system for ticketing cars that are illegally parked in bike lanes and bus stops.

Imagine if NYC did this!

Initial reports are coming in about how well the #Hoboken CLEAR parking enforcement is working. How exciting to finally have useable bike lanes and bus stops! Have you ever seen the Washington Street bike lane this clear? 😍

I cannot wait for those Christie-era coach buses to be phased out on the Hoboken 126 line. They make boarding so slow, difficult for accessibility, and uncomfortable. Glad to see more investment happening!

As an alumnus, this is embarrassing.

I would go for a NJTransit Baggu. That'd be pretty sick.

Car Guys should be more like Horse Girls.

Every once in awhile, you travel out from the city into the country and work on your little hobby. It's more fun that way!

We use the term "vulnerable traveler" as an objectively descriptive phrase.

I suppose we could have flipped the phrasing to "dangerous travelers", but then the conversation is more about "who is to blame", rather than a statement of "how do we protect these people from being injured?"

Giving “vehicular cycling” a try.

This was a particularly great episode. I appreciated hearing how Brad dealt with residents who opposed the street safety projects. It was a perfect example of listening to community concerns, making changes where reasonable, but ultimately doing what will ultimately make the neighborhood safer.

Yep. Only bump outs work.

From someone living in Hoboken, it's absolutely wild driving in any other urban environment that doesn't have daylighting.

How is it even supposed to work? Even the best drivers can't see around blocks of metal.

The street safety group I run is, according to our critics, both:

1.) an all-powerful cohort who pay off and strong-arm electeds to do our bidding

and

2.) a small, ineffective group of nerds who couldn't organize themselves out of a pothole.

Once again, the people accusing safe streets advocates of controlling city government were the ones doing the bribes.

NJ Transit's official data makes it difficult to tell just how bad it is. So @suryamattu.com and I spent three months collecting the raw location data for more than 190,000 trains on NJT, Metro-North, and LIRR. Then @mariepastora.bsky.social made the graphics to show you. The answer: Very bad.
NJ Transit Is NYC’s Least Reliable Commuter Rail — By a Long Shot
An analysis of real-time train data shows its passengers face major service disruptions at six times the rate of riders on other NYC commuter railways.
