Our detection dog Reid has been helping check for rats in cargo going to Bass Rock for lighthouse restoration for @nlb-uk.bsky.social. These checks are important to help protect the large Northern Gannet colony on the island from invasive predators. #NatureRestorationFund @naturescot.bsky.social

The lighthouse was established in 1895 and engineered by David Alan Stevenson. It’s situated off the Aberdeenshire coast.

The Bell Rock is situated off the Angus Coast. The lighthouse was established in 1811 and is the world’s oldest working sea-washed lighthouse.
