Not enough punk for current events.

He’ll fuck off any minute and take all this comedy gold when he deletes it.

Oh no.
April 8, 2025 at 3:39 PM
Feels shitty that an admittedly C-tier post describes you so aptly, huh?

Blocking or deletion is what your kind usually do now.

Have a good day.

Look at Jonny-pizza-cutter over here. All edge, no point.

BlueSky does have comedy!

Let’a assume Canada and Mexico/South America can hold out long enough to make it hurt bad.

How long will it take for our “market” to reset to a more American-centered model?

Will this happen in time for American farmers to stay solvent?
April 7, 2025 at 6:28 PM
So, I can see that.

But again, not unique. Reddit has its inside humor, as do many others.

I think the article is getting at the lack of humorous interactions here, and I’m wondering more why that happens. Or doesn’t happen. Whatever. Fun discussion on a rainy day.
April 7, 2025 at 6:24 PM
Agree.

Why do you think this is so often the case “here”?
April 7, 2025 at 6:19 PM
I do, and while you’re here stating, “my interpretation is the onliest valid one”, I literally pointed out that the article’s lede, in fact, agrees with the point I’ve been trying to make, and you’ve been oh so obtusely purposefully missing the point on.

It’s ok dude. Leave your echo chamber often
April 7, 2025 at 4:57 PM
Your last sentence is the root of the issue, IMO.

Seriously.
April 7, 2025 at 4:50 PM
The word you’re looking for is lede. And I circled it for you.
April 7, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Sigh.
April 7, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Please tell me what your takeaway from this article is, if not “humor is sparse on BlueSky”.

I’m legitimately curious.
April 7, 2025 at 4:45 PM
You’re literally this dude:

“…or they are deliberately trying to miss the point to make a different one”

Quote directly from the article for actual context.
April 7, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Let me get this straight, you’re saying that humor exists on BlueSky and that due to the lack of a strong recommender algorithm, one must go looking for humorous posts?

Quite literally my thesis here today. Thanks for coming to my BlueSky talk.
April 7, 2025 at 4:35 PM
I’ll give you one, but the whole article’s premise is colored in those tinted glasses.

“The lack of humor detection is made worse by tech: algorithmically curated content, à la Bluesky’s Discover feed, surfaces random posts to random people.”
April 7, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Yeah, my mistake. Trump-positive isn’t what I’m looking for.

Maybe I’m just looking for a dose of schadenfreude from Trump voters. I’m sure I can take my own advice and go find some.
April 7, 2025 at 3:36 PM
Twitter/X and this have become the “instant” news sources, but to fully grasp why, or even to attempt, I’m forced to wade through the sewer that X has become.

2/2
April 7, 2025 at 3:05 PM
To understand what America is thinking about tariffs and the presidency of Trump, one should not limit oneself to a single outlet of information. Regardless of this, I tend to seek those where one can see evidence presented by both sides, e.g. Reddit, substack, etc…. 1/2
April 7, 2025 at 3:05 PM
Sorry, dude. I disagree.

I look for the dissent. Not to feed the fire, but to stay informed.

It’s lacking here. The echoes are stronger here.

It’s not necessarily bad, but to discount the truth is bad.
April 7, 2025 at 2:56 PM
I’m young GenX (born ‘78). I’ve known internet “humor” and irony since pre-Napster, pre-SomethingAwful, pre Q.

The point is, this platform is refreshingly different, and if you feel your feed is lacking, the search tool is right there.
April 7, 2025 at 1:40 PM
What do you mean “normies”? Honest question. Trying to decide which camp I belong to personally.

I find this platform encouraging, but definitely lacking in dissenting opinions. I’m hoping that changes, while staying as civil as possible.
April 7, 2025 at 1:24 PM
I think the author is saying that because nobody is telling him who to like, he can’t find anything likable organically. That def seems like a them issue, huh?
April 7, 2025 at 11:06 AM
We do recover.

It’s going to be awesome when a black man beats Thurmond’s record filibuster length.
