It's worrying that the people supposedly in charge of the government, have no idea how things work, why they were introduced and how important for survival of the recipients they are. Totally out of touch.

The mere suggestion that people on benefits are not economically active suggests they can be ignored.
In fact they are 100% economically active, they spend all their money quickly. They don't get to save it in overseas tax havens.

Not unexpected to be honest. Austerity returns. The workers and the less well off are to pay for the protection of the very wealthy peoples assets. They meanwhile will invest in companies that benefit from the increase in defence spending etc. They will get richer
