Former UK Supreme Court President on leaving the #ECHR:

A must-watch.
Short but excellent critique of:

- what ‘AI Slop’ is
- how it is damaging the integrity and reliability of online information and creative industries
- how AI (not AI slop) can be used as a useful tool

No Country for Old Cows (2007)
Edited screenshots from No Country for Old Men. Anton Chigurh (with cow horns and cow ears) sits in a hotel chair and asks someone across from him, "If the tool you followed brought you to this, of what use was the tool?"

In a zoomed out view, Anton sits silently behind a table with the 4 cow tools look8ng at his victim as if studying him.

Palantir has pulled out of involvement with the UK Digital ID card, according to an interview with their UK CEO on Times Radio. They’re concerned about the reputational damage of being involved with an unpopular Starmer policy.

The scenes out of Chicago should outrage us all. These federal agents are out of control, committing senseless acts of violence & putting everyone at risk.

American citizens are being detained & brutalized.

This kind of immigration "enforcement" shouldn't be acceptable to anyone.

At the start of the year, I declared London the undisputed global capital for women’s sport in 2025.

I’m proud that our city has so emphatically delivered, with more than a million fans in London coming to watch the best in the world compete.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Leaving aside the importance of the protection of human rights for all and the key role the UK played in its creation, Dominic Grieve sums up other significant legal and political reasons why leaving the ECHR makes no sense for the UK.

National wage bargaining for academics is failing. UCU will likely argue to retain for solidarity, but with it no university can meaningfully respond to strike action due to an untenable tryst, amongst a sector with vastly different financial models. Local bargaining? Tiering? It needs discussion.

ICE has held him under 24/7 guard at a hospital, registering him under a pseudonym, for *37 days* without telling him why.
