Some of you may have noticed a new serial launch today, and it will work as a bridge between Some Assembly Required and my new contemporary romance titled Signals + Sentiments which comes out on 01/01/2026! The serial will fill in some gaps mentioned in the upcoming book, and give a look into the relationship of Mateo and Fallon Alexander.

“Maxie, you’re sure you’re okay with going with Uncle Liam?” Fallon said quietly, shifting from where he’d squatted to meet his son’s eyes. “I am,” Max replied, and looked over to Mateo for reassurance before looking to Fallon again. “You and Papa will be coming soon, right?” he asked. “We will—pinky promise,” Fallon replied, holding up his pinky. Max smiled, looped his pinky around Fallon’s, and then looked back to Mateo for further confirmation.

“I’m going to ask you a question,” a gravelly voice spoke from the shadows, reverberating as if its owner had not yet decided on a fixed point to situate themselves in the dimly lit room. “Ask it then,” a woman replied, her voice dragging in a sharp trill of annoyance. Her eyes were dark, sharp, and watching the silhouette of an overbearing figure as it drifted here or there across the wall of her chamber. She seemed on edge, stepping as if purposefully keeping her eyes on the shadow dragging around the room. “What is the difference between a king and a god, Mali?” the voice asked as water rippled, its owner finally pausing and stepping over the pool of dark ichor at the center of the room.
