I think it's the *most* Spielberg, but not necessarily his best. I still think Jaws and Jurassic Park are my tops (Munich is close behind), but it might also be the ages at which I saw them.

His score for 25th Hour is one of the greatest I've ever heard in my life. And he just never misses. Bamboozled, Miracle at St. Anna (underrated IMO), Jungle Fever. Even the non-Spike ones like Love & Basketball or Gia. The fact that he hasn't won an Oscar is a stain on the Academy.

Got a lot of movies still left to see (including many on your list, as always), but this one really resonated with me. Think it's the best I've seen in 2024 (so far!)
