Three second exposure in the dark dark night out back; floodlight on. There is a lightly clouded sky with stars; there are evergreens and fence posts, uncertain foliage; there is a barn . . . . Blacks and deep greens are present, as are reds and ochres, in the golden throw of light. Blue too.

Our oldest being (briefly) home from their first year of college, we got up to Fort Worden for the day—a favorite of both kids.
an old rusty door set in a concrete stairwell hidden in the grasses and trees of a hill. Through the door is a 30-foot drop and a rebar ladder.

The best my phone can manage. This is the moon in totality during the eclipse, just before midnight, looking from near Olympia, WA: small and quite red through thin, diffuse clouds. You can see stars in the sky as well, and they’re all suspended above Douglas fir trees.

Early sixties era vintage Boeing binder(?) — the only thing new to the collection here — to contain my issues of BOMARC Service News. Far from a complete run, but very satisfying to have them all together like this. side angle of same opened up, showing binding mechanism and a couple issue covers
