This comic was a lot of fun, too. I wasn't able to find your cover of the first issue at any of the shops I checked in the Twin Cities, so I opted for the blank sketch cover version ... which ended up working out for the best, I think.

When I had only seen still photos of them, I thought they looked stupid. But when I finally got to see the surviving episodes of "The Tenth Planet", my opinion changed completely. The fact that you can see their human form makes them the creepiest of the Cyberman models.

(In case you're wondering about the DP's switched roles in those pictures: In this story, Larry's and Rita's powers got swapped, and Cliff was incapacitated, so the Chief tried subbing for Cliff by wearing robotic armor.)

The first Doom Patrol comic I ever read was the 1973 reprint of the A-V-M Man's 2nd appearance. That's where I learned not to pour a bucket of water on hydrochloric acid! Science!

I presume that Ford probably gets tired of fans talking to him about Star Wars and/or Indiana Jones. So if I ever find myself stopped at a traffic light next to him, and we both have our windows down, I plan to yell out "Your car's uglier than I am!" from American Graffiti.
