Make that, ahh, "Politician Efficiency Rating" (PER).

New ratings every Wednesday, lol.

Someone needs to podcast that approach!

So in NBA Player Efficiency Rating (PER) terms Noem rates out like a 10-12?

Replacement level being like 15 with Obama likely close to a Lebron 30+ish.

But do they really need to be so transparently moronic?

Its like Biff in Back To The Future wasn't stupid and crooked enough!

I coild give a fuck about any autocrat including autocrat wannabes currently ransacking the US government.

There needs to be real international commitment to even have a chance of reversing a now 2 decade trend toward autocracy.

But we've gone well the other way. Biden/Europe R included in that.
December 12, 2025 at 2:51 AM
This has become a useless conversation.

Until you show me some HR creds lay off on the questioning of commitment based on internet browsing

Random people trying to fund these folks is so far less than a drop in the bucket.

TRUMP TURNED OFF ALL THEIR SUPPORT.

Most of these orgs are already gone.

To be crystal clear, those organizations receiving the money are not declaring it as income on their government tax forms. Right?

The sales pitch is its invisible.

Not surprisingly they literally have laws on the books saying this activity is illegal, specifically regarding funding CSO activity.
December 12, 2025 at 2:46 AM
So a USAID, UN or any other government development organization would never use that approach, even of private citizens might. But I certainly hope regular folks do!

But dont try to use that as a counterpoint for how wonderful crypto is for human rights. The body count ledger is so far from equal.
December 12, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Meaning literally its against the laws written in these host countries where the $ are being sent.

The innovation is AND HAS BEEN with the autocrats. They share legal language that works to block civil society funding.

Just because they cant stop transactions occurring doesnt make it legal there.
December 12, 2025 at 2:36 AM
I manged two global programs sending $ to civil society organizations on every continent incl. pacific islands. I literally commissioned studies in local languages on multiple continents.

I absolutely read the article and understand it.

As I said, you can get folks $ w/crypto. But its not legal.
December 12, 2025 at 2:33 AM
To be clear legal options are virtually nonexistent.

This doesn't change the overriding point: the vast majority of crypto engagements with human rights are on the opposite side.

Human trafficking, drug violence, state actor funded violence, terrorist networks, ransomware...

NOT civil society.
December 12, 2025 at 1:26 AM
Do read the link you sent.

The article does not say bitcoin is legal in any of these authoritarian regimes.

It does say they can get them $, not that it does so legally. They appear to be offering a nonprofit front.

Bottom line: The govt of Turkey governs of the digital money laws in Turkey...
