I remember the salesman in our dining room. We had *no* money (divorce, 6 kids, always late or no child support, no job for mom yet) but they were so important to her, she bought them anyway. I can still remember the weight, the feel of the paper, cover, and smell.

Sad trombone…Ah well, I’ll soak up as much goodness as I can while we’re there and hope they don’t hate us because we’re from the States.

We’re from Minnesota, practically Canada’s close cousin. We’re spending our summer vacation driving through Saskatchewan and Alberta to get away from the mayhem down here. Do you think they’ll let us stay, indefinitely? 🙏🏻
