Ok found it in SX manual, it's the same one as I have based on model number. Not sure why EX technical manual just has 3 pages on supply and no schematics - thanks for the hint, I wouldn't think of checking the SX one!

It will be quick fix, basically same as you did. It was quite spooky as it almost broke exactly as yours and I was like "did I just get that guys machine or what?" but this one has old caps (one just blew 1.5m smoke cloud when I tested the supply). Also just realized the fact about minimum load...

If you ever read this post (tried to contact you but didn't find email so tried here), where did you get schematics for this power supply? I got Tandy 1000 TX technical PDF but it has very brief chapter on p. supply. I saw actual schematic pictures on your blog.
