I read the other day something I think was smart: "we TOLD you so" is not effective. But "oh my. How terrible. How can he do this? Can we stop him?" is.

He’s on our school board. Tonight he and his colleagues are voting to put into place anti-trans school policies.

He is equally creepy in person.

They are absolutely amazing. I’m proud of their courageous to speak their truth to a board of glaring adults.

We’re rallying. News will be there. Journalists from nationwide newspapers will be there. Our lawyers are doing their work.

It just doesn’t feel like enough and it makes me feel absolutely sick.

They should see how hard it is to try to remain calm for your kid when one of their friends has a mental health emergency and doesn’t check in to say they’re okay for over a day.

They should see how hard it is to comfort your kid in the middle of the restaurant because seeing the word “fag” triggers reminders of kids bullying them at school and they just burst into tears.

They complain about how *hard* it is to be on the school board, a position they volunteered for and fought to be on.

And now the school board wants to extend those actions to the administrators and teacher as a *requirement*.

I don’t know why they find trans kids so scary. I don’t know why grown adults are so focused on volunteering their time just to take away the rights of these kids. I don’t get it.

I hate that my kid has to spend so much of their time fighting for basic human decency for them and their friends. I hate that just going to school invites upperclass boys to comment on their body, their gender, their sexual orientation - without repercussions.

Jason just said he was about to take them down and I forbid him to! 🤣

My Christmas tree is still up, for the record. And I’m thinking it’s got at least a week or two left on it!
