I've heard a lot about this but haven't actually tried it. How simple is fairly simple? Haven't played since 6th edition and I'm also interested in a more slim 40k. Especially at lower points.

GW's own kill team looked interesting but the rules don't seem great.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic for the future, but for other reasons (definitely not AI). I think what's happening now has the potential to be a new dawn for smaller studios and AA development overall.

Oh yeah, I mean, I'm 42. But I FELT old. Like an old man with dementia, scared and confused by the show and spectacle around me.

I've got friends working on it so I'm glad people are enjoying it, myself I felt OLD when playing it. I couldn't understand how I was supposed to move to not be in an endless meatgrinder and I had such a hard time spotting enemies among debris etc.

This is from the perspective of personal use. I still think there are endless amounts of bad things with AI that can be done by corporations, malicious actors and governments or people seeking to influence or manipulate. But in terms of a personal assistant I don't subscribe to the slippery slope.

I'd assume that line is highly personal. I honestly don't think life operates on a slippery slope mentality where things go out of hand as soon as given the chance. I don't subscribe to the view that we will turn into wall-e caricatures if given the means.

Double reply, sorry. Honestly I'd love for menial things in my life that take up precious time to be handled. Bills, taxes, whatnot. These things are abhorrent and unnatural to me and I'd rather spend that time taking a walk, reading a book, whatever.

I can answer some of that if I might play devils advocate for a moment. If I somehow imagine this whole thing wasn't a massive security risk I don't see buying tickets or similar tasks as something meaningful to me. It wouldn't buy it spontaneously, it'd do it at your behest.

I absolutely love masses of greebly "stuff" pushed into shadowed parts of things.

It really fucking sucks for you guys right now. I don't even know how it'd get fixed. In the long run even nazi Germany transformed and became modern Germany, but that's little comfort to the millions and millions who were killed or worse.
