I span the generations of not only the 5.25" the 3.5" but also data on cassette. I assure you the common parlance for both of these was floppies. Sure on the packets you purchased from tandy or tempo said diskette. But they were all floppies to the users.

On the whole I agree except for a smart oven. Putting a pizza in before going to the pub, setting it going on the walk home and arriving to a waiting hot pizza is the height of technology usage.

The only person that's ive ever seen completely understand and accept electric vehicle charging is my wife's 94 year old grandmother, born and raised on a farm who's only real contact with technology was a landlines phone. "Oh you just plug it in when you get home abd you use it in the morning"

Ah yes the abundantly available and reasonably priced whale teeth that we are always seeing ads for. Put down that iPad child and sit by the fire we'll carve scenes into these teeth and explore our feelings on revenge over the white whale.

My dad worked on development of the machine that reads postal addresses and encoder them onto phosphorus printed codes. To train the machines they used their kids handwriting. So my piss poor writing actually has been useful.
