In theory these sites are supposed to be breaks from the stressors in our lives but they end up draining us just like our lives do, our escape from reality seems to have become as bad or worse than our actual reality somehow

I know its a hard thing to do cause alot of our lives are caught up on social media, but I recently was away from basically all social media and news for 2 months and I was surprised by how much better I was mentally. Coming back it really hit me how toxic and angry social media can be, its draining

I honestly think the vast majority of twitter traffic now is chat-gpt bots trying to farm engagement to maximize income and follower count to eventually become big enough to sell the account.

Ever since that site started to pay out for engagement its just felt inorganic as fuck, its a rat race now
