I doubt this is true. We may see a less strident MAGA and maybe a few less MAGA but the biases, hatreds, ignorance, anger and wackiness will not go away. When Trump is gone they will organize around someone else. Maybe a local politician, maybe a national politician. But it won't be JD Vance

The only answer I can see, since American leaders dawdled so long addressing global warming, it a Marshall Plan to streamline approval and building of nuclear power plants. Of course my real hope is for commercially viable Fusion plants but that's probably 1-2 decades away

Agree wind and solar are faster to production. The limiting factor there is the space needed. Wind farms need 30-60 acres/Megawatt. A solar farm needs between 5 and 10 acres/megawatt. To power a city would take a huge amount of land. We will never be able to power America on wind & solar only

Yes do both. A typical utility-scale wind farm produces 100's of megawatts. A typical single reactor nuclear power plant produces 1000 Megawatt. If we had started wind/solar 30 years ago we would have breathing room now. We don't have that luxury anymore if we want to minimize the worst of warming

Not all of it. No doubt it wasn't as strong as todays but the highs were nicer IMO. Panama Red, Acapulco Gold & some of the stuff that was coming back from Vietnam was killer (opium laced). Plus there was more of a ritual and culture to smoking that I miss. No one knows how to roll their own now
