And then she turns out to be a kinda awful mom as well. Her character has no depth beyond her infatuation with Jake in the first film. Then we get catapulted pretty far into motherhood for her, so we don't get to see how being a new parent affected her. The whole heart of the films feels so flat.

It seems like Neytiri was a 19 year old when Jake came into her life, so the whole relationship seems so misguided on so many levels. What do they know about each other beyond the first movie's adventures? She literally says he's like a baby in 1, so it's not like she's connecting with him deeply.
