Police in Nepal have used lethal force to suppress youth protests, killing at least 19 people and injuring over 300.

The “Gen Z”-led protests were organized following a widespread social media ban, with many also expressing anger about pervasive political corruption and nepotism in government.

I attended the Innovation Week of the #ProtestLab, where innovators from various countries around the world came together to redesign, redefine, and imagine new ways of organizing peaceful protests while promoting the freedom to peaceful assembly. #FopA #RightToFreedomOfPeacefulAssembly

They're silencing us, and it's unacceptable.
A mother arrested because her daughter in Dubai criticized government officials? This is a blatant attack on our freedom of expression.
On top of plundering our nation's wealth, you're now stealing our right to criticise.

Today marks 5,000 days of arbitrary detention for Danish-Bahraini human rights defender Abdulhadi al-Khawaja in Bahrain.

Al-Khawaja should never have spent a day in jail. We urge the governments of Bahrain and Denmark to ensure his release.
After 5,000 Days of Arbitrary Detention, Bahrain Must Immediately Release Danish-Bahraini Citizen and Human Rights Defender Abdulhadi al-Khawaja

Dr. Kizza Besigye, a champion of Ugandan democracy, was brazenly abducted from Kenya and thrown into prison on trumped-up charges. His illegal detention is a stark reminder of the regime's contempt for human rights and the rule of law.

Martial courts are being used to silence opposition in Uganda.
That's not democracy, that's dictatorship.

We will continue to protest and demand an end to the impunity and military rule that has plagued our nation for over 38 years.

Inspired by the courage and resilience of the Syrian people, who brought an end to 40 years of tyranny, we too will persist in our fight for a corruption-free Uganda.
