I've recently been telling my oldest kids who are about to go off to college to not pay attention to politics at all until election time and pick a candidate with policies that align with their own. I think this is the key.

I've said it a million times because I watched it happen, and I even got caught up in it myself for a while, but the rightwing has been in a full blown moral panic since Obama was elected. We've lived in a twisted split reality ever since.

I think Gavin Newsom's strategy is good. Even if he doesn't end up being the nominee, at least someone is out there fighting.
