Introvert. Lapsed historian. Appellate litigator. Road cyclist and Campagnolo aficionado. Possibly the only person whose two favorite musicians are the Grateful Dead and spill tab.

They/them.
Talk about gender ideology. By saying “our gender,” Trump suggests that gender can be a characteristic of a group as well as of an individual. Quite the radical idea.

The invocation of the “principle of party presentation” to evade an unfavorable argument and the use of phrases like “[a]ding insult to error” are straight out of the Jones Day style book.

I found Netflix’s Transatlantic to be very reassuring and hopeful. It’s about how a manifestly imperfect coalition of marginalized people (Jews, socialists, anarchists, queers, artists, and anti-colonialists - but no trans people) worked together to protect people and ideas threatened by fascism

If you’ve paid attention to how UM has conducted itself throughout this project, and if you sincerely believe that it will account for the public interest when developing this project, then I have doubts about your judgment.

It’s hard for me to avoid the conclusion that your naïveté about UM is a cynical performance designed to beguile your Ann Arbor constituents about your bona fides. Those of us who will actually have to live with this nightmare are not so easily fooled.

At least Amazon is subject to municipal regulation and is constrained to some extent by its profit motive. UM and LANL aren’t constrained by either.

Your faith in UM’s public spiritedness is absurd. Since Dec. 2024, UM has been willfully and aggressively disinterested in what Ypsi Twp needs or wants. And its repeated misrepresentations about local impact demonstrate that it will not be a good-faith actor here.

Peqod-as-polycule works with the sperm-squeezing scene but Ishmael seems be gesturing at monogamy when he refers to himself and Queequeg as “a cozy, loving pair.”
