A canoe trip back in August. The culmination of years of fatherhood and sending off a son into the world.

This is My world. I feel most at home in a canoe or in the wilderness. For most of my life I have felt misunderstood. This is where I regain my sanity and feeling of worth. (Oswegatchie River).

On the grounds of Grant Cottage also is the remnants of a Tuberculosis Sanitarium and the former Mount McGregor Correctional Institute.

This is where President Ulysses S. Grant came to write his memoirs. It is what saved his family from being broke. It is also where he came to die after being diagnosed with cancer of the tongue and throat.

From a fall hike in The Rensselaer County Plateau. This is inside an old foundation.

This is Old Forge. They release water in October to alleviate ice problems.

All that is visible from being high in elevation. The third Pic shows the city of Glens Falls New York in the distance.

The grounds of Mount McGregor Correctional.

On the grounds of the cottage is what was known as Mount McGregor Correctional Facility. Prior to this it was a grounds for tuberculosis treatment.

The cottage where Ulysses S. Grant spent the final weeks of his life.

This past fall in a short canoe trip to the Moose River Plains. This is outside of Indian Lake New York. The wilderness encompasses over 70,000 acres.

This was a nice little hike on The Rensselaer County Plateau on a gorgeous fall day.
