In this roundtable article, the authors discuss the future of #envhist, problems of sources, scales, and temporalities. Together, they argue towards thinking of environmental history as less of a sub-field, but as a interdisciplinary meeting place.

📢New fellowship opportunity 📢

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new collaborative fellowship with the IU Indianapolis Arts and Humanities Institute (IAHI).
A colorful flyer with images of trees, plants, a microscope, and two arctic scenes provides details about the IAHI-NACBS Visiting Research Fellowship. The due date is June 23 and more information can found at the nacbs.org website.

We don't record our seminars to ensure that speakers feel comfortable sharing works in progress. Nicola might be contributing a form of her paper as a blogpost on our website in a few months. Sorry about that!

Alex will be talking at this, in part drawing on his experiences organising and reflecting on our 'Walkshop' last spring. Well worth going to!

The theme is 'Illuminating Nature: Explorations of Science, Religion, and Magic'

Please see below for the full CfP

The deadline is the 30th April!

Whether through religious experiences, scientific experimentation, magical ritualism, or many other means, the people of the time sought to explore the natural world and their place within it.

To apply, please submit a short abstract of no more than 250 words, along with a brief biographical statement and sent this to memsa.conference@durham.ac.uk
