We’ve found several of these cute rudimentary fish pipe bowls now, but only ever in central Scotland. We’re wondering if they were made by a local pipe maker but we’ve not found a bowl with enough steam intact to find a name. You can now watch the full making of these on our latest YouTube video!

A curious little heart-shaped ampulla I (Gail) found recently. It’s made of porcelain with two small holes either side of the lip suggesting it was worn as a necklace. We believe it may have originally had a cork and held perfume. A cheep and cheerful Victorian novelty for Valentine’s Day ❤️

Ernest Hemingway once said,
“In our darkest moments, we don’t need advice.”
What we truly need is the power of human connection: a quiet presence, a gentle touch, or the smallest gesture that reminds us we’re not alone.

Hours of work in 60 seconds. Some textured silver padlock charms based on a few late 19th-early 20th century padlocks we found while #mudlarking

As part of this week's river lark I (Alex) shrink one of our finds! In this instance, a corroded early 20th century paddock, restored by mum, from an indistinguishable lump of rust found on a Scottish riverbank. You can watch me make these silver charms from scratch in our upcoming YouTube video.
