We've set up a new carrier, Chit Chats to handle shipments.
We can now avoid paying the IEEPA 35% tariffs to ship our orders to the USA.
They will also handle our Canadian and International shipments while CUPW is on strike.

Good News for once:
All 3 of our test shipments with ChitChats are now in USPS's hands. So they got across the border, no tariffs needed since they were accepted under CUSMA, and have expected delivery dates of the end of next week. So it'll take about 2 weeks for delivery with them.

Unfortunately, we will have no choice but to collect the 35% tariffs in order to ship to the USA. We explored every available option and none are good. In an effort to ease some of the pain, we will absorb the fees related to paying the tariffs.

Good news! The broker approved the CUSMA certification of the test item, so now it's time for data entry of every. single. item. to submit for approval.

2. Shipping with ChitChats requires us to register each and every item with their broker one time with much paperwork, but they should be CUSMA compliant and have a 0% tariff. We're waiting on confirmation of our test item's paperwork to the broker is compliant. If it's successful, we'll use them.

Current shipping situation to the USA
1. Shipping with Canada Post using Zonos as a broker, Zonos has no exclusions set up for CUSMA items like ours that should have 0% tariffs. They would force us to pay 35% to continue to ship with Canada Post, which would force us to add their fees to the cart.
